On 19 October 2026, FedEx announced dangerous-goods road-transport capabilities for eligible shipments using its Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight services across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. FedEx lists examples such as some healthcare materials, laboratory reagents, dry ice, chemicals and lithium batteries, but eligibility depends on the commodity, origin, destination and regulatory requirements.
This is a FedEx-specific announcement, not a blanket acceptance rule for regulated cargo. Shippers should verify the exact product classification, packaging, route, service and documentation with FedEx before booking. A service option in one country does not prove availability or acceptance on another route.
Our guide to dangerous-goods road freight across the GCC lists what to confirm before you book. Related JW pages: Transportation, Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance. For other road options, see our local and GCC transport department and the guide to FTL and LTL road transport.
Details are as announced at 24 October 2026. Confirm case-specific acceptance with the carrier.
