History
Gemadept Shipping, founded in 1990 and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, is Vietnam’s first and leading container shipping company, operating a fleet of 34 vessels and handling 1.7 million TEUs in 2018-a 12% national market share. Gemadept connects Vietnam’s North-South ports and major intra-Asia trade lanes, with regular international services to Singapore, Port Kelang, Ningbo, Shanghai, and Phnom Penh. The company is also a top operator of inland and river container transport, with a full range of modern equipment and specialized containers.
